Avoid massaging and instead perform a Pichu, if you have twisted muscles or a sprain. Pichu is a simple technique for applying and keeping medicated oil on the affected body part. It eliminates the need for bandages while resting. Spread a piece of cotton over the painful area and dip it in the warm oil.
